Its Goodbye to Ana Marie, who has just delivered a healthy baby boy, and we wish her all the best. The new Manager is Matt Kitchener who is no stranger to Sharm. His previous position was as a dive centre manager in another part of Sharm, so he brings a wealth of experience with him to the position.

Just when you thought you had seen it all!
In January and February instructors at Red Sea Waterworld Taba dedicated their time and effort to find new sites in the region. As a result, 3 new dive sites have been added to our full day boat schedule. Shaab Tamer and Shaab Aidy, named after IDC Staff Instructor Tamer Abdel Azim and legendary Dive Guide Ahmed el Aidy respectively, are sites north of the centre, while Shaab Ghamila (translated - Beautiful Corals) is located to the south.
Since introducing these sites to divers the feedback has been great. All the typical marine life in the area can be found and there have been many encounters with turtles. This was in winter remember! Things will only get better as we reach the summer months.
If you have already visited these new sites, let us know what you think about them by adding posts and photos or starting discussions on our Facebook group. For those planning a return trip to Taba Heights, we hope you will enjoy these new additions.

Repeat clients Benjamin Linton-Willoughby and girlfriend Jane Canavan arrived in Taba Heights mid January to enjoy a few more days diving with Red Sea Waterworld. As keen BSAC Sport Divers, they travelled with full sets of diving equipment, enough clothes to get through the week and a very small item only Benjamin knew about. Like their previous visits they were here to dive during the day and enjoy the hotel and resort in the evenings. As they arrived at the dive centre on the first day of their 3 day package, they were greeted by familiar friendly faces. The weather was great, the sea was calm and visibility was 20 metres plus – everyone was enjoying their dives. What they didn’t realize at the time was that they were all about to see something for the first time underwater, something to put in the log books and remember during future diving adventures.
On their last dive of the holiday, Benjamin asked the guide to start the dive slowly as there was something he planned with his buddy Jane. All divers were told to wait patiently underwater, before going off to explore the dive site. Once underwater, everyone watched as Benjamin appeared to make an unusual hand signal to Jane. There was a little confusion as no one recognized the signal. It became obvious what was happening when Benjamin produced a small box from his BCD (Buoyancy Control Device) pocket. Everyone, no one more so than Jane, were surprised to see a diamond engagement ring glistening within. After a slight pause, probably for dramatic effect or shock, Jane extended her hand and Benjamin placed the ring on her finger. They hugged, kissed and then in true diving fashion gave a big OK to everyone else and carried on with the dive (hand in hand… aaaaahhhhhh!)
Upon surfacing everyone was eager to congratulate the happy couple. The boat crew provided the usual hospitality and the group danced and sang all the way back to the marina. Perhaps on their next visit, they will decide to get married underwater in Taba Heights.
RSWW at the Hyatt is delighted to have received recognition of their quality diver training from PADI. OWSI Instructor, Emily, received the Certificate of Recognition for Excellence for her teaching of an Open Water course last year. The feedback - which highly praised RSWW facilities, instructors and staff, as well as Emily’s teaching were selected from thousands of comments.

Nearly 40 divers with physical disabilities visited Red Sea Waterworld Taba in November. The handicapped divers required extra levels of care throughout their underwater adventure. Some of the divers were new to the sport, while others were divers at the time of the onset of their disability and were unwilling to give up the freedom experienced during diving
. Special requirements included paraplegic divers who were accompanied by up to three caregivers in and out of the water, one for equalization and mask clearing, one to control buoyancy and one to aid propulsion. The Waterworld staff worked tirelessly with this group and found the experience thoroughly rewarding, building bonds with each diver and creating new friendships. The divers were required to put their trust in the team, from being carried onto the boat, kitting up, and getting in and out of the water. The exercise required a great deal of teamwork and, above all, a great sense of humour.
