The Instructor
Development pathway begins with the PADI Divemaster Course
and is the first professional level in the PADI system.
Your journey into dive leadership starts here - Dare to
be challenged!
The PADI Divemaster Course consists of three modules:
Knowledge Development,
Water Skills and Stamina,
and
Practical Application.
You'll probably progress through all three modules simultaneously,
based upon the course schedule you and your instructor agree
upon.
During the Divemaster Course you will develop leadership
skills and professional-level dive knowledge and abilities.
Earning the PADI Divemaster Certification distinguishes
you as both an accomplished diver and a leader, at the doorstep
of becoming an instructor if that interests you.

| Prerequisites |
PADI Advanced and
Rescue diver or Equivalent.
Equivalent Advanced = see
Rescue Diver.
Equivalent Rescue = proof of certification in diving
Rescue from another training agency. |

Proof
of 20 logged dives (60 dives required by certification). |

Age
18 years. |

be prepared for your course. |

Submit
a medical examination from a Physician stating fitness
for diving, completed in the last 12 months. |
|
The
course can be reduced to about 12 days if necessary (home
study required) or extended to about 28 days if you want.
If you want to do this course in the shortest time then you
must have read the Divemaster Manual and completed the Knowledge
Reviews from it; you must have completed the Diving Knowledge
Study Workbook; and practice your
watermanship skills. |
