1. PADI DIVEMASTER COURSE
PADI’s first level of professional qualification, the Divemaster course, will give you the ability to organize and conduct diving activities. This course is normally a prerequisite to work in most areas as a dive guide. We will work with you to develop your personal water skills and academic knowledge of diving.
2. MONTH OF FREE DIVING
Now you can actually apply what you have learned during your Divemaster course. While assisting our instructors you will gain valuable experience in how to handle groups above and under water.
3. EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE INSTRUCTOR
During the day we will cover the procedures and give advice on how to run the PADI Emergency First Response Course. Upon successful completion of this course (at any time after the Assistant Instructor Course) candidates will be able to independently run the EFR programme.
Note: you need to be an EFR Instructor to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor
4. INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSE (IDC) - Unlimited
The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) will provide you with additional training that allows you to implement the PADI system. During the class time you will learn how to apply PADI standards, how to teach in the classroom, confined water and open water and how to market PADI courses effectively. The IDC also helps you to gain a complete understanding of PADI’s educational goals and philosophies.
The Instructor Development Course (IDC) lasts nine days and is followed by the two-day instructor examination (IE), which is conducted by an independent examiner from PADI headquarters.
The PADI IDC begins with independent learning and is divided into two components:
- Assistant Instructor Course (AI) – Day 1-4
- Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) – Day 5-9
The IDC course is scheduled between 08:30 to 18:00 each day. A lunch break will be fitted in where is convenient.
“IDC UNLIMITED” = FREE SPECIALTY TRAINING FOR LIFE!
If you complete you training with us we will give you five Specialty Instructor ratings for FREE (excluding PADI certification fee) and if you wish to return to us when we are completing another Specialty program you can do more FREE FOR LIFE!!!
5. INSTRUCTOR EXAMINATION
The instructor examination is held on the 2 days following the IDC. An independent instructor examiner from PADI headquarters conducts it. By the time you reach the IE, you will have covered in your IDC all you need to know to pass with confidence. Each instructor candidate is tested on their ability to teach in the classroom. The confined water and the open water watermanship is also tested by means of a rescue evaluation, and a demonstration of 5 skills. Theory knowledge is assessed by the completion of 5 written exams in physics, physiology, equipment, general skills and environment, and the recreational dive planner. Knowledge of the PADI system is tested by an 'open book' exam on PADI General Standards and Procedures.
