Course overview
The purpose
of the PADI Semi-Closed Rebreather course is to
familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning,
organization, procedures, techniques, problems,
hazards and enjoyment of diving with a semi-closed
rebreather.
The Semi-Closed Rebreather Course is intended to
serve as a training program that emphasizes adventure
and fun while establishing the benefits of Semi-Closed
Rebreather diving and developing the skills required.
The goals of the course are:
- To develop the students knowledge of Semi-
Closed Rebreathers-when to use one-different
types available Semi- Closed Rrebreather accessories,
their maintenance and minor repairs.
- To develop the student's ability to perform
the skills needed, or that may be needed, when
diving with a semiclosed rebreather.
To enable a student to plan, organize and conduct
dives using a semiclosed rebreather.

Semi-Closed Rebreather divers are qualified
to:
- Dive with a Dolphin Semi-Closed Rebreather and obtain fills
and carbon dioxide absorbent without further direct instructor
supervision.
