Sharm El Sheikh (10km distance) and Taba (30km
distance) have international airports where weekly charters from all
over Europe fly to. Eilat airport (Israel-30km) can also be a choice.
Egypt Air flies daily to and from Sharm El Sheikh and less frequently
to Taba. Contact your travel agent for details.
By
ferry boat
A high-speed ferryboat travels from Sharm El
Sheikh to Hurghada and back. It takes 90 minutes. Tickets can be bought
locally for approximately US$ 40 per way. You need to be at the international
harbour 60 minutes before departure. The ferry schedule is kept on
time, beside rare days when it can be cancelled due to rough weather
conditions.

A high-speed ferryboat leaving from Nuweiba to Aqaba connects Egypt
with Jordan. The departure time is at 11:00 every day, the timetable
is a little flexible. Tickets can be bought locally (ask at the harbour
for the ticket office, somebody will guide you).
From
Cairo
From Cairo you can either book a flight to:
Sharm El Sheikh (1 hour)
Taba (45 min)
or take a bus (low budget) at approx. LE 55 (approx. US$ 14-15) and
this takes you between 6 and 7 hours to Sharm (500km) and 5 and 6
hours to Taba (450km).
There is one main bus station in Cairo called Abassea. Taxi drivers
will know it. To Sharm El Sheikh and Taba the main carriers are the
East Delta Bus company and the Superjet. Seats may be reserved up
to two days in advance. Although bus times may change without notice,
departures are so frequent that schedules are not a problem.
