SIGN THE PETITION: NO POWER PLANT IN NUWEIBA

huge power plant We have recently been made aware of plans to build a huge power plant in Nuweiba, an area 200km from Sharm and 50km from Taba.

The plant will have a detrimental effect on the area as a whole, destroying reefs and marine life in the local area, an effect that will spread to other areas over time.

BIG CLEAN UP AT RAS MOHAMMED

Red Sea Diving College staff and guests were more than happy to help out with the July underwater clean up, organised by CDWS and the Ras Mohammed National Park, and joined more than 120 divers to help collect rubbish from over 1 kilometre of reef from Jackfish Alley to Eel Garden.

A Technical team meant the reef was covered down to 50m.Items collected included ropes, anchors, containers and bottles.  Of 150kg of waste collected, the majority was fishing line, which proved hard to collect and untangle!

MANTA MANTA EVERYWHERE (WELL, AT AMPHORAS!)

MANTA MANTA EVERYWHEREOnce again, the season has proved to be a Manta party on the westerly local dive sites, and luckily for us, Amphoras is the house reef of our Red Sea Waterworld dive centre situated in the Ritz-Carlton.
Amphoras is situated on the easterly corner of a bay containing a number of dive sites that all share similar characteristics, so why is this area proving to be such a draw?
