Dance for Earth Party – 80’ Style
After the success of the 70’s night in April “Dance for Earth” re-visited the 80’s for another fund raising boogie on the beach. With a visit from the Village People, Jane Fonda, various Madonna lookalikes and even a guest appearance from Vivien of The Young Ones; the party was like stepping back in time.

PADI Rebreather Courses Confirmed
Mark Caney, Director, Rebreather Technologies in PADI’s Technical Diving Division, announced that PADI is planning to introduce its first rebreather courses to include closed circuit rebreathers next year. Caney said that PADI will produce a range of rebreather courses covering the needs of recreational and technical divers, and that the first courses will become available next year. They will be supported by the usual high quality educational materials that PADI is well known for.

Hints and tips … Using an SMB
You are looking to end the dive, your buddy decides to deploy an SMB, suddenly you realize your buddy is gone, panic sets in; where has he gone? Ahhh… there he is dangling from 5 inches of string, just below the surface!
As a key piece of dive kit the SMB is an extremely useful tool when used effectively, however improper use can make it dangerous and cause rapid ascents. This month’s hints and tips look at simple things to help make your SMB deployments safer and more effective.

Whale shark the size of a semi submarine
Last Monday on the Taba Heights 10:30 semi-submarine trip, at popular dive site Muqabila, guests enjoyed a close encounter with an 8 metre whale shark and a 2 metre Grey reef shark!!!!
By chance, 2 staff were given an opportunity to take part on the trip for training purposes. Now they think it is completely normal for such animals to be roaming the beaches of Taba heights!
